Job Description
Barlow Research is an analysis-driven organization. An Assistant Project Director is responsible for assisting in the day-to-day administration of research projects and with analysis of results. Our research is largely survey-based, primary research of small businesses and middle market companies. Barlow Research is a small company with a long history of supplying “the voice of the business customer” to financial institutions. Under the direction of a Research Manager, an Assistant Project Director will work both collaboratively and independently to assist with delivering competitive insights to some of the top financial institutions in the country. A successful candidate will be a self-starter with strong critical thinking skills, know when to ask questions, and can navigate and prioritize complex projects.
Responsibilities
- Administration, analysis and reporting of assigned projects:
- Assist in managing assigned research projects
- Assist in designing questionnaires and provide feedback on study design
- Handle changes to questionnaire drafts
- Manage printing of questionnaires, letterhead, etc.
- Manage the schedule of active projects
- Assist in analyzing data results
- Prepare report formats, assemble reports and presentations
- Research programs:
- Prepare quarterly reports
- Prepare annual reports
- Prepare custom reports
- Prepare special data requests from clients
- Track market trends where necessary
- Support Program Director(s) for sales pitches or presentations, as needed
- Develop fluency with the software used in the office:
- Day-to-day packages: Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, Zoom
- Data management: Microsoft Excel, FileMaker Pro, Q
Qualifications

- Bachelor’s in research or business-related field
- Excellent PowerPoint, Microsoft Excel skills
- Extremely strong critical thinking skills
- Strong interest in utilizing and interpreting data
- Strong written, oral and interpersonal communication skills
- Attention to detail
- Ability to manage multiple tasks
- Must enjoy working in a team-based environment
- Must contribute to increasing the knowledge base of the Analyst Team as a whole
