Dr. Ramnath K. Chellappa is the founding program dean and academic director of the Master of Science in Business Analytics program at Goizueta Bustiness School, Emory University where he is also a professor of Information Systems and Operations Management. He is a visiting professor at the Indian School of Business, Hyderabad and previously served on the faculty of Marshall School of Business, University of Southern California.
Prof. Chellappa is widely published in the fields of economics of platforms, pricing, and piracy. His current research focuses on the impact of AI on business and society. He has won numerous awards for his research and teaching including the Provost’s Distinguished Teaching Award for Excellence in Graduate and Professional Education. He received his PhD from the McCombs School of Business at the University of Texas in Austin in 1997 where his work provided the first scholarly definition of the term "Cloud Computing".
Prof. Chellappa works closely with the industry on AI implementation adoption and frequently serves as a litigation expert on technology-related cases. He is often quoted in the popular media on the impact of AI and other technologies.
